For the majority of Veratad services there is a concept that we refer to as "Found a Match". This typically pertains to any database lookup and matching service and is usually one of the default rules.
"Found a Match" means that Veratad was able to locate the target you have sent in your request. We consider a target a match if ANY of the below is true:
- First Name, Last Name, Address and Zip Match
- First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and Zip Match
- First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and House Number Match
- First Name, Last Name, Last 4 SSN and Zip Match
- First Name, Last Name, Last 4 SSN and House Number Match
- First Name, Last Name, Last 4 SSN and Year of Birth Match
- First Name, Last Name and Phone Number Match
- First Name, Last Name and Email Address Match
- First Name, Last Name and Full 9 SSN Match
For example, if you send Full Name, Full Address and DOB in the target object if any of the below are true then we will consider it a match:
- First Name, Last Name, Address and Zip Match
- First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and Zip Match
- First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and House Number Match
The other possible match scenarios can not be true because you have not provided those elements on the target. So, providing more elements on the target will help us find more matches in the process.
All said, you can require elements from the target to match to get a PASS in most services when using one of the additional match rules.
